A hospital in Nairobi has argued in court that it has a right to have a settled bill from a patient.
The family of Fred Nyaigero had moved to court seeking to have Karen Hospital compelled to release his body which has been held at the Montezuma Monalisa funeral home.
The deceased died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. He had accrued a bill of Sh17.5 million at the time of his death.
The private hospital insisted on Monday that it has a right to be paid just as the family is entitled to have the body.
