The deathtoll of the dawn accident in Bonje area, Mazeras has risen to four after a bus from Nairobi overturned on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Three other passengers are in a critical condition and have been transferred to private hospitals in Mombasa town.
The driver of the TSS bus lost control of the vehicle at the blackspot, veered off the road and plunged into a valley.
At least 17 other passengers have been treated at the Coast General Hospital.
