Netizens have reacted with anger to a video that captures a woman who claims to have been sexually assaulted by police officers during an operation in Kakamega County.

In the video the woman narrates her harrowing experience and the way the police officers inserted an object into her private parts after the officers forced themselves into her house.

The woman claims that the officers beat up all the occupants in her house but that she is the one who who received most of the blows after being stripped naked.

“They ordered me to undress and continued hitting me while naked. One them then came to my rescue and restrained his colleagues, but not before they pressed an object into my private parts,” she said.

PUBLIC OUTRAGE

The video, which has since gone viral, shows blood trickling down the woman’s leg although its source cannot be verified.

On Thursday, officers from the General Service Unit stormed houses and beat up residents during a crackdown to recover firearm stolen from Booker Police Post.

However, the search yielded no results, but according to the locals, it left many people injured and property destroyed.

The woman’s ordeal caused outrage on social media with many users calling for the immediate resignation of police bosses Joseph Boinnet and Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery.
