An officer attached to the Deputy President William Ruto accidentally shot himself on the leg on Monday evening in Buruburu estate.
Administration Police (AP) Sergeant Kipyegon Kemei was preparing to go to work when he cocked his pistol and hoisted it on his waist.
He, however, accidentally pulled the trigger and a bullet was discharged. He is admitted at a city hospital in a stable condition.
