American entertainer Chris Brown now says a Kenyan woman who claimed that he smashed her phone only wanted freebies from him.
The singer is quoted by TMZ saying he only walked past Brenda Chepkoech, his accuser, without any contact.
“We’re told Chris and his team think the woman was simply out for free tickets and when that failed, she tried a quick money grab,” the online magazine reports.
Ms Chepkoech has accused the R&B singer of grabbing and smashing her phone as she attempted to take a selfie.
Mr Brown headlined the Mombasa Rocks show last Saturday. Others who performed include Nigeria’s Wizkid as well as Alikiba and Vanesa Mdee of Tanzania.
